Efficacy & Safety
Pre-Clinical RA Studies
OxyPharma's compounds have demonstrated very good effect in pre-clinical
RA models, eliminating symptoms of the disease. All studies conducted
thus far have supported the anti-arthritic properties of the lead compound
and of Rabeximod (formerly Rob 803).
Clinical RA Studies
A phase II trial of OxyPharma’s immunomodulator, Rabeximod, in patients
with moderate to severe active RA is ongoing. The study is carried out
by Pharm-Olam International, a multi-national contract research organization
(CRO). OxyPharma successfully completed its phase I study of Rabeximod
in May 2006.
Pre-Clinical MS Studies
For the MS indication, the selected compound, Rob 895 has proved to be
most efficacious, eliminating symptoms of the disease. All studies conducted
thus far have supported the anti-MS properties of the lead compound and
its analogues.
Safety Profile
Based on completed toxicology studies and study in healthy volunteers
of Rabeximod, OxyPharma considers the safety profile of Rabeximod, and
also most likely Rob 895, to be good.
