Rob 895 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

A screening program has been carried out aimed at optimizing the lead compound B-220 by chemical modifications for determining structure/activity relationship in order to obtain more efficient compounds for treatment of MS. The EAE model was used in the screening for the structure related efficacy, and a selected number of active compounds were screened for other structure related properties (lead optimization) e.g. chemical, kinetic and toxicity.

Screening Results
OxyPharma has completed the screening with regard to structure related efficacy of carefully selected analogues to B-220 for the MS-project with excellent results. Lead optimization phase was completed early 2005 and Rob 895 was selected as candidate drug.

Future Development
OxyPharma is currently establishing a plan for a safety evaluation program in order to bring Rob 895 to first dose in man.

Pre-Clinical Safety Program
The safety evaluation of Rob 895 is expected to be of the same magnitude and design as that for Rabeximod.
